Posted on Facebook on 5/3/20: I won at the Music Education Awards tonight! I couldn’t believe it because there were a lot of other incredible people there. I am the finalist for the Francesca Hanley Award for my services to music, music education and projects with Audiovisability. My nominations come from my connections in Cardiff (Royal Welsh College) and my flute students’ parents via Essex Music Services. Audiovisability will continue to be a place for deaf and hearing musicians and visual artists to collaborate, inspire, build new networks, make incredible works and such because I see so much talent out there, and two worlds can benefit from each other. Gone to bed happy. Thanks to Tracey Tyer for being my BSL sign language interpreter tonight – I appreciated the full access to the speeches.
