warning! – you will never think about music in the same way again!
The Art of Music workshop gives you the chance to explore music in a different way that you have ever thought of. How do you translate music into a piece of art work? What sort of shapes would you paint when the saxophone plays a chromatic scale? How do you translate words such as “symmetry” into a music performance? What colour is peaceful and how do you compose something into a musical piece from that word?
The Art of Music workshops I have devised work at tackling those very questions posed above! I tailor them individually for each one I run whether it be for upper primary school, secondary school or even for adults. Those with completely no musical background (or if music is not in the school’s curriculum) need not fear - they will benefit from the Art of Music workshop in a huge way! I have built up these workshops around national curriculum guidelines. Participants will get their hands messy from painting, collage and drawing as well exploring and performing on various instruments I supply, learn rhythm reading, compose a piece of music – either by graphic score or in notation. Large groups will perform in smaller groups to give out a performance at the end of the session. To invite me to lead a workshop and to obtain details of costs please contact me.
