Ruth Montgomery – B.Mus (Honours) Music, Dip.ABRSM Flute music performance and Teaching.

I enjoy teaching all ages, children to adults and of all levels. I encourage and guide my pupils to the best of their abilities, making sure that making music is fun. I currently work for Essex Music Services and I do a lot of work in schools as a peripatetic flute and recorder teacher as well as conducting a flute choir. There is an opportunity to prepare for an exam (with no obligation!) which I teach the Associated Boards of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) exam syllabus however Trinity/Guildhall exam board is an available study option too.I also teach music theory in the flute lesson because it is important to understand how music really works, (in terms of scales, melody and harmony).I specialise in teaching music to deaf people too of all ages – whether they are flute lessons, or one to one music tuition or general music lessons in groups.  I am available to work on individual music projects outside the Chelmsford area (by agreement/arrangement) - please get in touch with any proposals and to discuss fees.
